C'River APC Shuts Down $34M Petition Against Senator

The All Progressives Congress in Cross River State has rejected the N12.5 billion constituency funds petition filed against Senator Agom Jarigbe, who represents the Northern Senatorial District.

The party cautioned its members against participating in unauthorized legal activities under the party’s name.

"The petitions reportedly authorized by the APC Concerned Group, which were submitted against the incumbent senator of the Northern Senate District regarding the N12.5 billion constituency funds, do not originate from our organization, and we completely disassociate ourselves from them," stated the state APC Chairman, Alphonsus Eba, on Tuesday.

According to The PUNCH, the APC announced its plan on Monday to remove Jarigbe from his position within the People’s Democratic Party during the 2027 general elections.

On Tuesday, when addressing journalists, Eba rejected the notion that the party was involved in the purported N12.5 billion fraud allegation against the senator.

The group voiced discontent over a petition reportedly submitted by certain concerned APC members from Northern Cross River.

Addressing journalists, Eba stressed that all legal issues related to the party should be approved by the leadership to prevent misunderstandings and factional disputes.

He stated, "Let us issue a word of caution to all members of our party."

Under absolutely no circumstances should anyone from our party hire a lawyer for any reason that might suggest the party is supporting such actions.

He confirmed once again the party’s support for Governor Bassey Otu and Deputy Governor Peter Odey, stating they remain the only nominees from their side for the upcoming 2027 governor race.

Eba asserted that the present administration’s performance warrants their ongoing leadership, remarking, "No one switches up a winning team."
