Nita Ambani Hails Mumbai Indians’ Scouting Team After Triumph Over KKR – International Edition (English)

Following Mumbai Indians' (MI) win against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday, team owner Nita Ambani commended the franchise’s recruitment team for discovering outstanding players such as bowlers Ashwini Kumar and Vignesh Puthur, alongside wicketkeeper-batsman Robin Minz.

During his groundbreaking debut, Ashwani not only claimed the first-ever four-wickets-in-an-over by an Indian player in the IPL but also motivated Mumbai Indians to secure an impressive eight-wicket victory against Kolkata Knight Riders during their opening match at the Wankhede Stadium. With contributions from Ashwani (4/24) and Deepak Chahar (2/19), who bowled them out for merely 116 runs in 16.2 overs, MI then witnessed Angkrish Raghuvanshi (26) and Ramandeep Singh (22) scoring past the 20-mark before Ryan Rickelton (62*, off 41 balls; featuring four boundaries and five sixes) along with Suryakumar Yadav (27*, hitting three fours and two sixes in nine deliveries) ensured they surpassed the target well ahead of schedule, leaving 43 balls unused.

Following the game, Nita Ambani praised the scouting team for their efforts. She stated, "I wish to extend my congratulations to everybody involved. This is precisely why the Mumbai Indians are recognized. Today, I would also like to express my gratitude to the Mumbai Indians' scouts who have put in immense effort. Over there is Rahul Sanghvi, the cricket director; DJ Dhananjai CKM, handling data performance management along with all his statistics, as well as the whole scouting group. Our squad includes promising talents such as Ashwini Kumar, Vignesh Puthur, Robin Minz, among others. Therefore, they deserve recognition too.
