Weather Update: April 29, 2025 – What to Expect

Kathmandu, April 29 -- According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Nepal will experience partially to mostly cloudy conditions on Tuesday, accompanied by possibilities of light to moderate rain and snow falling in various areas throughout the country.

In Koshi Province, parts of the Himalayas are expected to have partly cloudy skies with possibilities of light snowfall in some areas. Meanwhile, both the hilly zones and the Terai might encounter light to moderate rain along with potential thunderstorms and lightning at several spots throughout the day and night.

The Madhesh Province is expected to experience partially cloudy to mostly cloudy conditions across the Terai area. There may be scattered light to moderately heavy rainfall and thunderstorms occurring at certain points throughout the day, and possibly at one or two spots overnight as well.

In the Bagmati Province, the Himalayan area might see some light snowfall scattered across certain locations. Meanwhile, the hilly regions could experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. In the Terai zone, expect partially cloudy conditions throughout the day potentially turning into occasional showers of light to moderate intensity at select spots; however, nights should remain mostly clear.

In Gandaki Province, the mountainous area will experience partially to mostly cloudy conditions along with possibilities of light snowfall in certain locations. Hilly regions stand a chance for receiving light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, whereas the Terai zone might stay partly cloudy transitioning into predominantly clear weather.

In Lumbini Province, there is potential for light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms at scattered locations throughout the Himalayan, hill, and Terai areas during the daytime. Skies will be partially to mostly clouded over the hills and mountains overnight but largely clear in the Terai region.

The Karnali Province is anticipated to experience partially to mostly overcast conditions across both the mountainous and hill areas throughout the daytime, with a possibility of light to moderate rainfall occurring at one or two locations. The cloud cover is forecasted to persist through the nighttime as well.

Across the Sudurpaschim Province, expect mostly cloudy skies over the Himalayan ranges and hill areas, accompanied by possibilities of light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Meanwhile, the Terai region will experience partially cloudy conditions transitioning to predominantly clear weather for both daytime and nighttime periods.
